When preparing their new retail space, a local business needed to make changes to the storefront windows and door in order to accommodate their unique services. The remodel consultant on the job needed to consider several factors, including the plaza’s aesthetics, the location and swing of the door, and the addition of a kiosk in their entryway. The ideal solution for the project was the CGI Commercial Storefront window and door system.

The biggest concern for the client was the need to accommodate a kiosk within the door and window configuration. To accomplish this, there would need to be a void in the frame of the wall system that would not compromise the strength and integrity of the entryway. CGI Commercial's extruded aluminum framing was the perfect fit to provide a custom opening for the kiosk.

Another advantage of the impact windows and door chosen was the ability to match the existing frame and glass color of the rest of the shopping plaza. Additionally, we were able to match additional metal coverings to the CGI Commercial frame to help cover electrical components of the kiosk, creating a weather-safe case for the entire unit.

With the addition of the kiosk, the remodel consultant advised a change in both the door location and direction of swing. This was important to make the entrance more inviting and for customers who may be carrying large amounts of objects to have easier access to the door while others may use the kiosk.
